Please have the girls bring their glove, as well as a bat if they have one. We will have some extra bats available as well.
The next session for the pitching clinic will be Monday, 3/30 from 5:00PM - 7:00PM at the DMS gymnasium.
The goal of the clinic is to introduce the girls to pitching, teach them some of the basics, work on existing techniques, and most importantly get them excited about becoming and/or staying a softball pitcher! The clinic is going to be graciously run by Courtney Almeida, who has pitched at many levels of softball, and was a student of the late Peter Looney - the famed longtime softball coach for Apponequet High School and the University of Connecticut.
The cost for the entire clinic is only $5.00, which will cover ALL FOUR sessions. We ask that girls interested in attending the clinic please bring someone to catch for them as well.
We are looking for a couple of people interested in joining our Field Crew to help maintain the softball fields at Quinn. Duties include lining and dragging the fields, making the fields playable following rain, adjusting mounds, and cutting the grass.
This is a great job for a high school student looking to make some extra money this spring and summer. Members of the Field Crew must have reliable transportation (either their own or via parents), and preferably have a very open and flexible schedule. Times are generally 3:45PM - 5:45PM on weeknights, with some extra time on the weekends as needed.
If you are interested, please contact Jaryd Gioiosa at email@example.com for more information.
DGAL is proud to offer scholarships each year to graduating high school seniors who are Dartmouth residents and have played in DGAL softball, basketball or field hockey at some point in time. We will offer up to 10 scholarships, with amounts ranging between $150-$250 each, to deserving candidates.
